Community Day Where to Next?

My Week - 29 October to 4 November

My community day in and around Market Harborough on 19 October began with a visit to Little Bowden Park. I met with Cllr Peter James, who was keen to discuss with me some of the issues bothering residents who live nearby.

On 10 October I spent my Community Day in Oadby & Wigston.

This morning I went to visit the St Matthew’s Big Local project in Leicester, to see how they are using some of the grant money I allocate to divert youngsters away from crime. As I was arriving, half a dozen burly teenagers were leaving.

I recently visited the village of Croft to chat to local residents and businesses about their experiences of crime and policing. Here's what I found.

Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Rupert Matthews has called a public meeting to give residents in North West Leicestershire the opportunity to share their views on crime and policing.

On Saturday 14 October, I went out in Whitwick with Cllr Craig Smith and a team of Conservatives from North West Leicestershire to knock on doors and find out what issues were of most concern to local residents. 

On 5th October my day in Leicester proved to be more eventful than I had expected. I started with breakfast at Rolls & Rotis on Wood Hill. An omelette roti set me up for the day, and I was able to chat to the owner about local issues.

I recently visited Melton Mowbray for meetings at the local council. While there I took the time to talk to businesses in the Market and in Nottingham Street. What did I find? Watch the video to find out. 

 I began my Community Day in Rutland in Oakham. I popped into Strays Coffee Shop overlooking the market place, where I had a Commissioner’s Breakfast consisting of a nice pot of tea and a cracking bacon bap.
